Whispp Highlighted in the National WBSO 2023 Annual Report

The Dutch government recognized Whispp as a standout innovation in the WBSO 2023 Annual Report for addressing societal needs through cutting-edge technology.

Whispp is honored to be featured in the Annual Report Promotion of Research and Development (WBSO) 2023, presented by the Dutch national government. This recognition highlights Whispp’s role as a pioneering assistive voice technology, transforming whispered speech into clear, natural voice to help individuals with communication challenges, such as those caused by ALS, Parkinson’s, or throat cancer.

As Micky Adriaansens, Minister of Economic Affairs in the Netherlands, expressed:

“We share a number of inspiring stories of entrepreneurs who, thanks in part to the WBSO, have realized new products or applications that respond to social needs. As in the practical story of the app Whispp, which converts whispering into speech. These are innovations that make the world a little nicer!”

The WBSO (Law Promotion of Research and Development) program supports Dutch companies by reducing R&D-related labor and expenses, enabling them to focus on innovation. In 2023, over 19,000 companies—97% of which were SMEs—benefited from the scheme. This demonstrates the government’s commitment to fostering technological advancements that deliver both economic and social value.

Whispp’s inclusion in the report underscores the significance of continued investment in technologies that address societal challenges. From improving communication for individuals with voice disorders to promoting inclusivity, Whispp exemplifies the kind of innovation the WBSO aims to encourage.
