On Stage with Quallcomm, Hybrid AI: From cloud to edge intelligence.

Showcasing how hybrid AI is reshaping industries with real-time, local intelligence and help drive the best user experience.

Last week at Websummit, our CTO Akash took the stage with Dr. Vinesh Sukumar during Qualcomm’s masterclass “Hybrid AI: From cloud to edge intelligence.”

The session looked at a simple but important shift: more technology is now running directly on the device instead of always relying on the cloud. People want products that feel fast, private and dependable. They want things to work even when the connection is weak. Keeping more of the processing on phones and laptops makes that possible. It means sensitive information stays with the user, and tasks that need to happen instantly don’t have to wait for a round trip to a server.

Akash spoke about approaches on moving from a cloud-only mindset to a more balanced setup. When you bring more of the work closer to the user, you need to simplify your design, make the most of what the device can do and test things in real conditions, not theoretical ones.

We were glad to be part of this conversation at WebSummit and to see how many teams are thinking about the same challenges. It’s clear that bringing more intelligence to the device is an important step toward building technology people can trust and enjoy using.
